Insta360 Black Friday sale – awesome 360 camera gear

https://store.insta360.com/BlackFriday?insrc=INR60U2

In the last few years Insta360 has truly conquered the consumer market of 360 photography. In those years they released some staple models ranging from entry level Insta360 Go and newer Go 2 through more advanced Insta360 One R and Insta360 One X2 (that are supported by professional platforms such as Matterport) to fully professional Insta360 Pro and Titan cameras. I have two of their cameras (Evo and One R) – they get used very frequently and I’m a huge fan of Insta 360 brand.

Their 360 cameras are extremely versatile for taking photos and videos alike and they offer endless editing possibilities. You can capture footage as 360 and keep it as 360 to be published on platforms that support 360 format. Those include Google Street View, Kuula, Veer or even Facebook.

Alternatively – you can process them into extremely creative “flat” versions that can be published on Instagram or TikTok feed. Whatever your choice is – have a look at incredible Black Friday offers of Insta360 cameras! They even have an Invisible Drone with 360 camera – check it out!

DON’T MISS IT! – click here for those awesome deals! Please, note that you will be buying directly from Insta360, not from our website.

See below examples of 360 images. The first one is the actual 360. The gallery beneath has the “flat’ versions of the various 360 photos I took with my cameras.

No fly zones – what are they and do we need them?

To fly or not to fly… What exactly are “no fly zones”?

No fly zones (NFZ) exist in what is in aviation called “controlled airspace” which includes airspace classes A, B, C and D. For drones – no fly zones in classes B (some countries don’t have this class) C and D would typically apply as class A is designated for high flying air planes.

Drone Intrusion – what you can and cannot do (legally)

Drone Intrusion?

Few days ago, I “committed” a story on my drone Instagram account @drones.n.pixels – I archived it as Drone Intrusion, so have a look 😊

It was about incident that happened to me recently. It appears that someone took a shot at my drone. To my knowledge, I was not over anyone’s property, but this is actually completely irrelevant for now as we will be looking at situation when a drone actually does harass you. I don’t know, if this was in fact real shot or a tyre blow out, but I didn’t want to bother anyone or risk my drone or to, so I quickly landed.

South Africa drone no-fly zones

No-Drone

To fly or not to fly…

Knowing where to fly and where not to fly can be challenge. Most hobby pilots rely on applications to find drone no-fly zones. For Europe and North America they are very accurate. Where apps are lacking are the less developed parts of the world, and this still includes South Africa. The best I found for South Africa so far is Altitude Angel available for both, iOS and Android.

Immersive 360 video from the sky

With the advancement of both, drones and 360 cameras to consumer market and both being available at the fraction of the cost of professional technology, it becomes obvious that creation of fully immersive videos is a mater of rather short time. And drones and 360 cameras go together INCREDIBLY well!

Drone regulations – mini rule book

BE SAFE – ALWAYS

For hobbyists, there are only very few rigid rules that need to be followed and rule number one has to do with safety. Drones vary in shapes, sizes and capabilities, and it’s a “no brainer” that different level of awareness has to be applied when flying a “sub 250 gram” mini drone like Mavic Mini 2 or a semi professional Inspire 2 or Pantom 4.
